python-pcapy software package provides Python interface to the libpcap packet capture library, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install python-pcapy
python-pcapy is installed in your system.
Make ensure the python-pcapy package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep python-pcapy *
You will get with python-pcapy package name, version, architecture and description in a table
